28 September Email

Hey family,

Everything is going great here in the windy city Osório. They have about 70 wind turbines here on the outskirts of the city because we get so much wind here. It's pretty nice. Your suit coat always stays flying in the wind behind you as you walk. My new comp is great. He is from São Paulo. He's been on the mission for only 4 months. He is a pretty good worker and doesn't have fear of talking to people which is good. We get along great. We have a few people with baptismal dates but I don't really know if the dates will hold. Hopefully we can reach our goal of 4 baptisms in the transfer. I know that President would be happy if we did that.

Not much has happened this past week. I'm still waiting on that package. Our apartment has been pretty dull lately without any sound. Hopefully the package will arrive safely and on time. I am still the professor for the youth here. The branch president told me that he would call someone soon to fill my place. We haven't had a ward mission leader, but I pushed the branch president and he finally called one last Sunday. Hopefully we can start getting a little more help from the branch with the missionary work here in Osório. Knocking on doors hasn't helped at all last transfer, so we are going to try some different things this transfer to try and get more references from members and to reach out to the people that would have and interest in our message. This Saturday and Sunday will be world conference. i think we will get to watch both sessions on Sunday at another branch about an hour from here.

How are things at home? Anything new happen? Maybe you guys can start planning the next hunting trip for 2012.

Let me know how everyone is doing. It's been a while since I've heard from Zach and Liz and many of the rest of the siblings. Thanks Savannah, Matt, Erin, Mom, Dad, and Grandma Edie for always writing to me!  =D

Hope you all have a great week.

Love you all

My testimony
(In request by Erin)

Joseph Smith Jr. restored the true gospel of Christ here on the earth, all the keys of the holy priesthood were restored to the prophet Joseph Smith, and he sealed his great testimony with his blood like a lamb at the slaughter as he fell from the window of the Carthage jail exclaiming "O Lord, my God". This gospel that Joseph restored is the same gospel that Christ taught in Jerusalem and to the people that lived here in the Americas long ago. Because of this great man and many others the restored gospel is readily available to all who accept to live its teaching and principles. We can feel the truth of the gospel as we read and study the book of Mormon and the early history of the saints as they moved across the plains to find safety and relief from the heavy persecution that raged against them. As we study and apply the gospel principles in our lives we can feel our hearts being changed by the powerful atoning sacrifice of Christ.
